CLEAN WATER FILTRATION PROJECT
The Migori River is the primary source of water for drinking, cooking, and bathing in the Dago Kogelo community.
Reducing waterborne disease by bringing clean water to the residents of Dago, Kogelo is our newest project. The lack of clean water for drinking and cooking leads to diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery and impacts other aspects of life in the community such as the ability to go to school, to earn an income, etc. We are partnering with Uzima Water Filters to provide a safe, efficient, durable, and affordable means for every household to have their own water filtration system. As shown below, dirty water is poured in the top grey bucket and microbes are trapped in the filter providing clean water in the white bucket. For a more detailed description of how the system works, click on www.uzimafilters.org.
A donation of $40.00 provides a complete water filtration system for a family that will last 5-10 years. Please consider making a donation today!
