CLEAN WATER FILTRATION PROJECT
Above is Migori River in Dago, Kenya. It is the primary source of water for drinking, cooking and bathing in the Dago Kogelo community.
ON-GOING PROJECT INITIATIVE - LAUNCHED SPRING 2022
Reducing waterborne disease by bringing clean water to the residents of Dago, Kogelo is our newest project. The lack of clean water for drinking and cooking leads to diseases such as cholera, typhoid and dysentery. Lack of clean water impacts other aspects of life in the Dago community as well. These includes such things as the ability to go to school, to earn an income, etc. We are partnering with Uzima Water Filters to provide a safe, efficient, durable, and affordable means for every household to have their own water filtration system. As shown below, dirty water is poured in the top grey bucket and microbes are trapped in the filter providing clean water in the white bucket. For a more detailed description of how the system works, click on www.uzimafilters.org.
