We're so glad you've visited our home page!
Mission Partners Kenya is an "umbrella" name that covers 2 non profit organizations. Amani Partners Kenya, Inc., amanipartnerskenya.org and our Child Sponsorship Program with Friends of Dago, Inc. are based in Evansville, Indiana. We have initiated and worked on medical and educational projects through these organizations in 2 small Kenyan villages and the surrounding areas for 14 years!
Here's how the partnership works:
Friends of Dago, Inc. receives and distributes money for our child sponsorship program, which was started in 2016 in honor and memory of Nancy Woodruff, a two time traveler to Dago. She had a huge heart for the children. We offer the opportunity to sponsor children in the Early Childhood Development program, which supports 4,5 and 6 year olds. $300 will purchase uniforms, shoes and socks, sweaters, backpacks, 2 warm meals a day, school supplies and teachers salaries. We currently have 56 out of 90 children sponsored, which is the most since the program began! Click on Ministry Outreach above to read about what we are doing during this time of global pandemic when the children are not in shool.
Amani Partners Kenya, Inc. was established in 2017 by high school students in Evansville, with the goal of building and supporting a Health Centre up the hill behind the Amani Learning Centre which was completed in 2006. Students from Signature School in Evansville, along with The Beacon Group, raised and distributed funds for the ambitious, Learning Centre project. The ground breaking for the Amani Health Centre took place in 2018, and the two floors have been completed, thanks to the generosity of many people! We were excited to hold our July 2019 and February 2020 medical camps in the newly completed ground floor of the Health Centre. In February our team actually spent the night in the Centre! Amani Partners Kenya also supports our new cataract surgery/eye care program.
